This cubic design is one of the most recognizable items of IKEA. It is a leveled up version of an Expedit Series. Kallax comes with the variety of sizes such as one single unit or up to 5×5 unit in one piece. The company constantly adds something to the inserts collection so anyone can find something suitable. All I can recommend is to stay tuned to their mobile app or website to be informed about new arrivals or special prices. Kallax as a room divider was an obvious option when a few weeks ago I decided to actually divide my living room area to separate a home office. If you live in small apartments this solution is perfect for you. Other aspects of small flats you’ll find in this post. The variety of choices led me to the Kallax Planner on IKEA website.
I got lost with their planning tools. It’s easy and fun to be able to check many combinations before making a purchase. When you like your final design you can easily add all of the items to the shopping list with just one click.
KALLAX AS A ROOM DIVIDER
I prepared for you some combination in the planning tool. The quality of an image is quite good, everything is clear and colors are pretty accurate to their real counterparts. It’s easy and intuitive a drag and drop system to navigate. I focused only on the 4×4 unit because I think it’s the most convenient choice in terms of dividing space. Especially if you live in a studio apartment. It’s not as big as 5×5 but does the job perfectly. So below you’ll find some pics from the planner. I hope you’ll get inspired. Unfortunately, in the tool, you won’t find every Kallax insert so the empty cubes on my stylings are left for other stuff. But of course, you don’t necessarily need to fill every cube for sure!
Which one is your favorite combination? Do you have a Kallax as a room divider / old Expedit in your home? It would be great if you could share some photographs of your unit here in comments.
Have a super duper day guys, bis Bald!
Disclaimer: It is a shelf unit so it’s supposed to be mounted to the wall. In case you have children or you live in an earthquake region you have to be extra cautious when selecting inserts as well. This unit may tip when not secured. Always read the manufacturer’s instructions and comply with every advice.
