Today I decided to share with you something that is not exactly what I’ve been posting this far. In terms of interior styling of course. Color. And not just some random one but the trendiest of all trendy colors this season. Pink!
Raspberry like pink was teamed with a generic scene as a pattern on this unique Toile de Jouy wallpaper. Everyone will agree that those bold walls are creating the unprecedented twist on the standard Scandinavian style. As much as I admire cohesive styling this mix is just perfect.
TOILE DE JOUY WALLPAPER
“Toile de Jouy”, sometimes abbreviated to simply “toile”, is a type of decorating pattern consisting of a white or off-white background on which a repeated pattern depicting a fairly complex scene, generally of a pastoral theme such as a couple having a picnic by a lake or an arrangement of flowers. The pattern portion consists of a single color, most often black, dark red, or blue. Greens, browns, and magenta toile patterns are less common, but not unheard of. Toile is most associated with fabrics (curtains and upholstery in particular, especially chintz), though toile wallpaper is also popular. Toile can also be used on teapots, beddings, clothing, etc.
Living room is decorated with the two most recognizable Scandinavian brands. Beautiful and comfortable looking Söderhamn sofa of Ikea and a set of the String shelves are the perfect Scandi elements. When we point out the little Ranarp spotlight (also by Ikea) and the round minty table there’s a clear image of a perfect Nordic styling.
HALL HOME OFFICE
This idea is just brilliant. It saves space in a living room or in a bedroom by managing to transform the extra space in the hallway into fully equipped home office. I think if future owners will add some drawers or shelves it will be beneficial for the interior.
The question I have today is if you’d add a piece of this Toile de Jouy wallpaper in any other room to correspond with the living area? How do you like such bold walls combined with Nordic design? Let me know if you want more of these!
